In this unit, we learn about the paleontologist profession. We asked our students to search and find information about it with their parents, and to present them to their classmates. Then we gather all the material and made the DinoStem encyclopedia. Divided into groups of two schools, we played the online game "Paleontologist tools" and we had a lot of fun! Our second riddle gave us the opportunity to study volcanoes. We learned how the volcanoes got their name when a volcano is considered active, inactive, or extinct. We chose an active volcano in our country and made a small presentation of it to our partners. Our partners presented an active volcano of their country too. We did the experiment with soda and vinegar to see the reaction of the two ingredients and how the lava comes out of the volcano. Finally, we learned the word "volcano" in Greek, Italian, and Turkish and recorded our voices. The 5th riddle is the last one that we managed to complete. Its solution led us to study the life cycle of dinosaurs and the phenomenon of melting and freezing by conducting relevant experiments with which we focused mainly on children's prior knowledge and their predictions of what changes will occur in frozen objects by adding different materials (sugar, salt, vinegar) -melting, and placing different liquids in the cases of an icebox what is predicted to happen to them with the drop of temperature-freezing.
